I did a thing this weekend that I never thought I would EVER have the nerve to do. I went to my first photography conference. Not only that, I entered 5 images into photo print competition-all COMPLETELY outside of my box. I'm confident that the conference was one of the best decisions I have made for my business, and I will continue to be a member and advocate for the Professional Photographers of Nebraska for years to come.
To merit, a photographer must score at least an 80/100 from the judges, focusing on 12 elements of composition. I did not expect to merit; I entered for the judge feedback to make my work better, but I am proud to say that TWO of my images merited, and the other three were scored as "Above Average" in the competition. I learned so much from watching the judging, and I can't wait to use my new knowledge on my future shoots.
My two photos that merited!
The best part of the weekend was gaining new friends and supporters of the photography industry. It was such a positive experience, and we LAUGHED and ATE all weekend! I chose sessions that I felt would support me and make me a better photographer, and I truly can't wait to try the new techniques with my clients! Here are a few snapshots from this weekend.
This is a page of my reflections. Nothing fancy, but I hope it entertains you!
